The Marble Man

When Josef Wirnshofer released his debut SUGAR RAILS as The Marble Man in 2007, he already impressed with his exceptional songwriting and a remarkable reduction to the essentials. This stylistic clarity also characterized the second album LATER, PHOENIX... (2010) and revealed the great artistic potential of the Munich native early on.

With HAIDHAUSEN (2013), recorded for the first time with a full band, the sound opened up into larger sonic spaces - without losing its characteristic concentration and depth. Instead of pathos and pop gestures, the band opted for a dark, dense and independent sound.

After many concerts and a lengthy break, The Marble Man have continued along this path on their latest album LOUISIANA LEAF. The songs move in cool, nocturnal soundscapes between minimalism and atmospheric intensity, characterized by new wave echoes, trip-hop elements and organically grown sound experiments.

Recorded at the Lone Star Studio in Nuremberg, the album was created in close collaboration with the band. Analog effects, unusual sound sources and deliberately open arrangements give each song space and character.

With LOUISIANA LEAF, The Marble Man have further honed their unmistakable style - timeless, atmospheric music that is firmly anchored in the here and now.
