In their home country of Australia, The Southern River Band have been busy touring the country since 2013. Their shows, which they describe as mega rock parties, inspire with raw rock'n'roll and take place wherever there is a stage. Since their formation in Thornlie - a suburb of Perth - The Southern River Band have been honing their sound and have been praised as a "proper f*cking rock band" by Justin Hawkins, The Darkness singer and guitarist. On their debut album "Live at the Pleasuredome" from 2016, it was already clear how pure and energetic the band interprets its rock sound. With their single "Chimney" from their second album "Rumour & Innuendo", The Southern River Band celebrated a career high in 2019 that marked a turning point. After the release of the album, they were drawn to bigger stages, such as a support show for Cold Chisel in front of 16,000 people. But also supports for Birds of Tokyo, Wolfmother, Jebediah, Amyl & The Snifflers and The Darkness made the musicians better known within Australia, which was further consolidated not least by a tour with Eagles Of Death Metal.

The band has long since moved on from the DIY approach of the early days with the album "Live from Rada Studios", released in 2022. In 2024, The Southern River Band signed to Cooking Vinyl Records, toured Europe and released their latest LP "D.I.Y.", which contains their biggest hit to date with the song "Stan Qualen". The album was nominated for Best Independent Heavy Album at the Australian Independent Record Awards (AIR Awards) 2025. But The Southern River Band are following up immediately: Their new long-player "Easier Said Than Done" will be released on October 17. The album opener "Don't Take It To Heart" already makes it clear what language The Southern River Band speak on their fifth album. The band once again packs their take on the classic rock sound of the 70s and 80s with plenty of power and influences from southern rock and roots rock. The singles "No Such Time" and "Fuck You, Pay Me" quickly make this clear. On their Easier Said Than Done EU/UK 2026 tour, The Southern River Band will also be coming to Germany for two shows to celebrate their new album - on February 23 at YUCA in Cologne and on February 25 at Berlin's Privatclub.
