From now until March, we invite you to "Sielmann's Nature Cinema" every 1st Friday of the month with popcorn.
Our new cinema series kicks off with Heinz Sielmann's film "Animals in the Shadow of the Border".
When Heinz Sielmann filmed the nature documentary "Animals in the Shadow of the Border" in 1988, nobody thought that the division of Germany would be history in the near future.
In the former border area, the animal film pioneer captured unique footage of the animal and plant world, which could only develop in this way because of the border fortifications. This film impressively illustrates the division.
Join us on a journey of discovery into recent German history and to places where badgers, pheasants, wild boar and red deer conquered a unique habitat in the shadow of the border and made it their refuge. The Döberitzer Heide Nature Experience Center is showing the film exclusively on this day.
Staff members will reminisce with the audience about the time when Germany was divided and, following the film, will share their thoughts on history and provide information on the current status of the Green Belt and the nature conservation work of the Heinz Sielmann Foundation there.
Free admission. Admission is from 5 pm.
