The event

Exploring queer historical novels over coffee and cake at Büchercafé Kapitel Drei

"Queer literature is proof that we have always existed - in stories, in desires, in words. Novels not only give us a voice, they remind us that we are never alone." - Unknown

For QueerHistoryMonth, the Kapitel Drei book café invites you to browse through a selection of queer historical novels over a cozy cup of tea or coffee. From Highsmith, to Woolf, to Baldwin - there have always been queer authors and they have always found ways to share queer stories. But it's not just the works themselves that tell a story. People who have the courage to share their truth in a world that doesn't accept them have always been agents of change. Authors such as Oscar Wilde and Radclyffe Hall have not only inspired new fashion trends, but have also created queer visibility and public discourse.

In Chapter Three, queer historical classics will be given a new stage. All books can be read or purchased on site. The cozy living room atmosphere invites you to browse, linger and let yourself fall completely into the stories.
