QueerHistoryMonth | Enter Ghost. Hamburger Séance | Diskussionsveranstaltung

In the organizer's words:

QUEERHISTORYMONTH

QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2026(www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events as part of the festival will bring the history(ies) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome - kings, queers, queens, allies, friends, families (of choice) and everyone in between and beyond!

The event

Kick-off "Enter Ghost": Talk about queer remembrance, resistance and mourning. Followed by a joint walk through the cemetery - bring your smartphone and headphones.

To kick off the audio-video walk "Enter Ghost", Swoosh Lieu invite you to a discussion format in the Cordes Hall at Ohlsdorf Cemetery. "Remembering is hope and joy is resistance," says the protagonist Edith during the digital séance at the cemetery.

Together with Mira-Kristin Saitzek from Queer History Month Hamburg, Thomas Lienau-Becker from Memento e.V., Katharina Pelosi from Swoosh Lieu and moderated by Suna J. Voß, we want to discuss the meaning of queer practices of remembering and mourning in times of authoritarian escalation.

Before and after the event, everyone is invited to take part in the AudioVideoWalk. You will need your own smartphone with headphones.
