Toxic Harvest - Deutsche Konzerne und der Export verbotener Pestizide

In the organizer's words:

German companies export pesticides that are not approved in the EU to places where there is a lack of protection for health and the environment. This is a lucrative business for Bayer, BASF, Alzchem & Co - and it has dramatic consequences for many people in the Global South. The documentary "Toxic Harvest" - produced by the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung, the African Center for Biodiversity, TCOE and Women on Farms Project - shows the consequences of these exports using South Africa as an example. It follows people who work there every day with highly hazardous pesticides, many of which are banned in Europe, and shows the consequences of their use for people and the environment.
On the occasion of the Annual General Meetings of the German pesticide manufacturers Bayer, BASF and Alzchem, we also want to discuss the role of Germany and German companies in the global pesticide trade and discuss possibilities for political regulation to protect people and the environment. In France, a law has been in place since 2022 that prohibits the production, storage and export of pesticides whose active ingredients are banned in the EU for health or environmental reasons. A corresponding decree also came into force in Belgium in 2025.

Following the film, we will discuss with
