Ty Segall returns with his 16th album "Possession", which will be released on May 30, 2025 via
Drag City, and is also releasing the lead single "Fantastic Tomb" with today's announcement. Following 'Three Bells' from 2024, 'Possession' sees Ty embark on a search for new horizons, taking us on a fast-paced narrative journey under the vast skies of an American frontier empire. The literary texts, which he co-wrote with his longtime partner, filmmaker Matt Yoka, paint a vivid picture of typical American stories. There are new, invigorating sounds to be discovered at every turn - glittering rhythm arrangements in which Ty's piano playing comes into its own more than ever, accompanied by rousing strings and horns. "Possession" is rich with singing guitar riffs and harmonic vocal layering and contains some of Ty's most inspired songs to date.
