In their masterclass, choreographer Adrienn Hód and dancer, performer and choreographer Csaba Molnár create an intimate space to explore personal movement patterns in detailed improvisations and physical self-reflection. Based on the choreographic language of Hód's company Hodworks, their approach encourages participants to rethink their own physicality and the possibilities of contemporary dance and to experiment with new forms of performative presence. In guided improvisations - physical, vocal and inventive - participants work individually and in pairs to discover sensations, breath, voice and emotional impulses as sources for movement. The workshop emphasizes curiosity, dialogue, feedback and joint reflection. It invites dancers to follow their own path and transform embodied experiences into creative material.
Adrienn Hód is an internationally renowned choreographer. With her company Hodworks, she develops works at the interface of contemporary dance and experimental movement that are shown worldwide. In addition to her work with Hodworks, she choreographs for international companies and works for theater productions, film and advertising. In addition to her artistic work, she regularly teaches both in Hungary and internationally, working with improvisational tools that are often related to Hodworks productions. With Unusual Symptoms she developed the productions "Coexist" and "Harmonia" at Theater Bremen.
The workshop is aimed at participants of all ages and abilities. Previous dance experience is an advantage. We recommend comfortable sportswear for participation.
