A collaborative exhibition as part of the Jewish Country Houses Project at the University of Oxford

September 20, 2025 - January 19, 2026

Following the exhibitions at Strawberry Hill, in Twickenham (Sept. 2024 - Jan. 2025) and the Rothschild estate Waddesdon Manor, in Buckinghamshire (March - June 2025), Hélène Binet's architectural photographs find their way to the Liebermann Villa am Wannsee in Berlin. Binet traveled through Europe to photograph historic buildings in Great Britain, France on the Côte d'Azur, Germany, Berlin, Umbria, Italy and the Czech Republic in Brno and to trace their history. As part of the exhibition, we follow in the footsteps of the builders, who were all united by their Jewish origins. Are there any architectural elements that unite them and what makes the country estates so individual? The 10-year research project "Jewish Country Houses" at the University of Oxford provides the framework for the exhibition series.
