In the organizer's words:

Enemies of the people

based on Henrik Ibsen
a production by mit.mach.Bühne

The water of the spa, the source of prosperity and hope, is poisoned. When a group of activists discovers this, they find themselves in the firing line of the media and political powers that be. A battle for truth, morality and the sovereignty of opinion in the town ensues, until finally the entire town community is politicized and believes it can distinguish between enemy and friend.

Henrik Ibsen's 1882 drama An Enemy of the People exposes the mechanisms of power and powerlessness in a competitive capitalist society with a sharp eye. In our adaptation, thirty people stand on stage and together ask themselves the question: How much truth can a society that longs for security tolerate? Which voices are heard - and which are silenced? An evening about courage and isolation, about democracy in a state of stress and the eternal temptation to suppress the uncomfortable.
