Lecture + performance on the occasion of the exhibition Dissident Bodies

New Natures / Nature Fictions examines the body as a hybrid entity between nature and technology. In a slow, reduced choreography, it appears both human and distant - like a trace or a shadow of itself. Hugo de Almeida Pinho is an artist, musician and performer. In New Natures / Nature Fictions, he shows the body as a hybrid, changeable being and thus questions traditional notions of identity and nature. A black second-skin suit and light therapy glasses refer to a present characterized by artificial light, screens and constant activity. The body becomes a projection surface and a field of experimentation.

In her lecture,Nanna Heidenreich, media culture scholar and curator for film, video, theory and interventions, examines the interface between ecology and border regimes. Using current examples, she shows how ecological discourses are used to legitimize exclusionary policies and what forms of violence arise from this. At the same time, she takes a critical look at the complex intertwining of nature, power and social borders.
