Walking on Rivers - Bright Screen, Red Eyes, Science Fiction Tour 2026

WALKING ON RIVERS have now consistently arrived at the time of their debut album after a journey full of years of joint creativity and hundreds of concerts. With this album, the band takes a critical and cynical look at the current state of society, but also at their own situation. The focus is on the search for genuine interpersonal connections and the paradox of "social media", which is increasingly displacing these connections. The band also deals with personal issues.

After the last EP "Time to Lose Control", which above all manifested a new sound for the band, WALKING ON RIVERS now picks up where the songs last left the end open. Lack of control has a flip side, which David Laudage and Martin Kreuzer reveal and comment on in their songs in a multifaceted way. "Bright Screen, Red Eyes, Science Fiction" picks up on the bizarre aspects of a networked yet lonely world and takes a meta-perspective on the difficulty of finding words and a place in this world.

Inspired by downtown Oklahoma, where some of the songs were written in the summer heat, the indie-pop guise continues to evolve in renewed collaboration with producer Sven Ludwig (OK Kid, Fil Bo Riva, Lina Maly, among others) and above all becomes more mature, more casual and yet bolder. The core elements of their sound have not been discarded. Catchy melodies with a strong focus on polyphony are packed into bony or deep basses, electronic sounds and spherical surfaces with driving beats.

After recent successful support tours with Alice Merton, Walk off the Earth and the Happy Fits, among others, WALKING ON RIVERS also present their new songs live on stage - away from doomscrolling in fictitious worlds of personal feeds.
