Massive Shoe is the latest album by Way Dynamic, the solo project of Dylan Young from Melbourne, Australia. On the eleven tracks, Young moves between minimalist folk-pop, art-rock and baroque pop - all carried by his restless, playful creative spirit. Dylan writes all the songs himself, plays almost all the instruments on his albums and produces them together with his long-time collaborator Stefan Blair (Good Morning). He is part of a close-knit community in Melbourne - an elected family of artists who play in each other's bands and record each other's albums. Young is or was a member of the intertwined bands Good Morning, Cool Sounds and Snowy Band. Way Dynamic's live band is also often made up of changing constellations of these long-standing friendships. Dylan has also worked with the US band Sylvie and the Australian Aboriginal folk icon Kankawa Nagarra, for whom he played drums. Since the release of Massive Shoe on Melbourne label Spoilsport Records, Way Dynamic has received widespread acclaim - from artists such as Djo and Charlie Heaton to Elton John and John Mayer to Katie Crutchfield (Waxahatchee) and MJ Lenderman, both of whom have taken Way Dynamic on Australian tours. Katie Crutchfield raved about the single "Miffed It" from Massive Shoe in her substack, calling it "my favorite song in a VERY long time".
