WHAT IS LEFT Overhead Project | CircusDanceFestival 2026

In the organizer's words:

"What is left" shows us the beauty and brutality of our everyday social fashion walks. Bodies appear approachable, but are at the same time strategically staged in an uncanny way. Authentic presence and cool presentation mode are distortedly juxtaposed. In the struggle for attention, a sweaty mountain of bodies pushes//grows up//screws up? inexorably into the height of the room.

Between catwalk, parade and passive voyeurism, the five acrobats and dancers hold up a mirror to us with their radical presence. A powerful, physically intense circus piece that was awarded the Cologne Dance Prize in 2023.

The Overhead Project company has been shaping Cologne's independent scene for over fifteen years with its work at the interface of contemporary circus and dance. It is the initiator and host of the Cologne CircusDanceFestival.
