In times of increasing social tensions, the question arises as to what role art and culture can play in terms of cohesion, visibility and social responsibility. With the panel discussion on this year's festival theme: "Solidarity under pressure - responsibility in culture", we want to ask different voices about this.
On the panel, actors from cultural work and activism will discuss solidarity practices in the cultural sector: including festival director Rolf Emmerich, activist and diversity officer Joana Peprah and Tina Sanders from the Cologne-based association mittendrin e. V.. Together, they talk about how cultural institutions can take responsibility, what challenges currently exist and how structures of solidarity can be created in practice.
The panel discussion marks the start of the Sommerblut anniversary weekend at the Schauspiel, which will take an in-depth look at issues of solidarity, inclusion and social responsibility.
Duration: approx. 60 minutes
The panel discussion will be translated into easy-to-read language and German sign language (DGS).
