Movements characterize many areas of our everyday lives - in sport, at work, in medicine. For a long time, such processes could only be observed subjectively or recorded using complex measurement technology. Today, video recordings in combination with modern artificial intelligence methods allow a new form of analysis: movements and changes over time can be automatically recognized, described and evaluated.

The lecture by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mirco Fuchs provides insights into current applications of these methods, including non-contact recording of vital parameters, ergonomic analysis of workplaces and technical and competition analysis in competitive sports. Real examples will be used to show how AI extends image and signal processing and makes movements analyzable at different levels of abstraction.
