Ecology and history of the Südgelände Nature Park or how nature is reclaiming an abandoned railroad station.

Learn about the history and special features of the Südgelände Nature Park on this two-hour guided tour. Over the last few decades, a unique natural oasis with unspoiled forests and open dry areas has been created. Rare mosses, herbs and insects have found a new habitat in the former shunting yard.

During the tour between the railroad relics, you will learn how the amazing succession from an inanimate industrial site to the original primeval forest areas is taking place. Take away a wealth of information about this significant park, which you are guaranteed to see with different eyes afterwards.
