Workshop: Genozid an den Jesiden – Erinnern und Dokumentieren

In the organizer's words:

In this workshop, participants will be given an insight into the concrete work of the human rights organization HÁWAR.help's remembrance and reappraisal work and learn how experiences of genocide can be documented and preserved. How can remembrance work be shaped by the community itself? What needs to be considered when recording interviews, what significance do post-custodial practices have, e.g. when materials remain in the possession of the families? And how can resilience and strength be made visible alongside pain?

The workshop will be led by the archivist of the "Yazidi Community Archive" Rênas Babakir and Layla Mirza, who has accompanied the work of HÁWAR.help for several years as a survivor.
