Workshop: Patchwork/Nähen/Meditation

Create a home for your higher self

The workshop invites you within an experimental space 'A Zone of focuse' to immerse yourself in an artistic process that combines meditation and community.

How can we experience art as a form of ritual? Perhaps inner processes are transformed through the visualization of feelings while working together on, for example, a patchwork picture?

The workshop begins with a guided meditation and mindfulness exercise. In a form of sewing circle, personal experiences, techniques, wishes and thoughts can be reflected upon and experimentally transformed. Collages and embroideries are used to create textile objects - such as a pillow or murals.

Participants are invited to bring used fabric remnants such as handkerchiefs, shirts, notes, buttons, stones and beads to create a personal object for themselves. There is also plenty of material available on site.

Theresa Tuffner (born 1994) lives and works in Berlin and studied fine arts in Dresden and Copenhagen. Her work combines conceptual approaches with collective, material-based processes. Her exhibition "The genesis of an intimist" can be seen at Studio Bildende Kunst until May 2, 2026.

The Studio Bildende Kunst in Berlin-Lichtenberg is a venue for exhibitions, workshops and artistic exchange.
