We are delighted to welcome an icon of the detective novel to silent green in September: Sara Paretsky, the pioneer of the female detective novel and creator of the legendary investigator V.I. Warshawski.

On the evening of September 13, Sara Paretsky will be reading in person from her new novel Wunder Punkt and giving an insight into the world of her cult investigator. To this day, she sends them where it hurts, equipped with a moral compass that seeks oases of confidence in a broken world - or at least the courage to keep looking, to look instead of denying.

The evening will be hosted by Else Laudan, the translator of the novel.

About Sara Paretsky
Born in Kansas in 1947, she worked as a social worker in the hotspots of Chicago, earned a doctorate in history and economics and revolutionized the crime fiction genre from 1982 with her self-determined investigator V.I. Warshawski. Her novels have been translated into over 30 languages and read millions of times worldwide. Paretsky is a co-founder of the international crime writer network Sisters in Crime - and one of only four living writers to have been awarded the Grand Master Award and the Cartier Diamond Dagger. She lives and writes in Chicago.
