Dutch quartet YĪN YĪN will release their long-awaited fourth album "Yatta!" in January 2026, continuing their unique blend of disco, funk, psychedelia and Southeast Asian sounds. One thing is certain: their groove gets deeper and more diverse with every album.

A formative influence on Yatta! is the spacy and psychedelic Italo disco sound that emerged in Italy at the end of the 1970s and reached its peak in the 1980s. "There's something mysterious about it," says the band. "The producers used new recording techniques and effects back then, but there are hardly any pictures or videos of how this music was created in the studio. You have to use your own imagination and imagine your own story." This sense of mysterious fascination is palpable throughout the new tracks - with their endless grooves and trippy backwards guitar effects.

From the very beginning, YĪN YĪN have dedicated themselves to exploring rare global sounds - always with the aim of getting people on the dance floor. On Yatta! this urge reaches its peak.

Musically, YĪN YĪN's sound world moves somewhere between Italy and the Far East, with clearly audible Asian influences. Some tracks sound like they come from the soundtrack of a 1960s Japanese soul-funk spy movie, with a hidden koto sample in the mix. Other songs could be the pulsating disco soundtrack to a Thai spaghetti western - the song titles also give a clear indication of this.

Yatta! combines danceable club tracks with more relaxed soundscapes. "We wanted a mixture of energetic, danceable songs that immediately ignite and tracks that take you on a journey," explains the band. "Music that you can dance to, but also just listen to, switch off and enjoy."

In the end, Yatta! is the sound of four musicians who have found their own curious, world-spanning groove - and clearly enjoy exploring it further. And best of all: you are invited to dance along.
