Ballhaus Ost has been a venue for independent theater, performance and dance since 2006. Under the direction of Tina Pfurr and Daniel Schrader, the house at Pappelallee 15 in Prenzlauer Berg sees itself as a cooperative house for groups and artists from all branches of the performing arts. It is home to already established groups and artists from the independent scene (such as the puppet show formation "Das Helmi," the dance choreographer Christoph Winkler and the theater director Christian Weise) and at the same time offers a place for previously lesser-known actors. The house pursues a cross-disciplinary approach with diverse content and a high artistic output in terms of both quantity and quality, focusing on long-term collaborations with various individual artists and groups. Ballhaus Ost is a meeting place for experimental and courageous theater makers and an inquisitive audience - a dynamic place for the passionate processing of today's realities of life.
