The URBAN NATION Museum for Urban Contemporary Art opened in Berlin in 2017 - turning the vision of an international art network for street and urban art into reality.

URBAN NATION is an initiative of Berliner Leben, a foundation of Gewobag, and is guided by the motto: Connect. Create. Care. Since 2013, URBAN NATION has been shaping Berlin's urban landscape by transforming building facades into large-scale works of art, creating a unique outdoor gallery.

The initiative pursues an expanded concept of the museum: art should not only be experienced in the exhibition space, but directly in the urban environment. With this approach, URBAN NATION promotes dialog between art, urban society and the international scene.

Since its foundation, URBAN NATION has been inviting internationally recognized artists and young talents of contemporary urban art to Berlin. Their works not only find their place in the museum, but also in public spaces - on building walls, facades and shop windows.

In addition, URBAN NATION initiates integrative neighborhood projects that strengthen social cohesion and intensify people's connection to their living environment through art.

URBAN NATION sees itself as a place for exchange, encounters and the documentation of urban art movements.
