Welcome to the 37th Turkish Film Festival Munich!

You can expect 10 days full of exciting events that invite you to immerse yourself in the film landscape from and about Turkey.
This year we can look forward to many guests from the Turkish film industry, including the renowned Turkish actress Nur Sürer.

Filiz, a young real estate agent, struggles with postnatal depression after the birth of her son and feels overwhelmed by the demands of being a good mother. While her husband takes care of the child at home, she tries to fulfill her professional obligations. The few periods of relaxation she has are disturbed by family members who are concerned about her well-being and want to help. Longing to do something just for herself, she decides to buy her own car. In the process, Filiz meets Şule, a young woman who wants to escape her violent boyfriend. A bond of solidarity gradually develops between the two women, helping them to overcome their problems.
With her second feature film, director Emine Emel Balcı "wants to give a voice to women who are alone at night, women who are forced to find new ways to survive, women who feel insecure and women whose confusion is not considered normal and who strive to be strong despite everything."

Genç bir emlak danışmanı olan Filiz, oğlunun doğumununun ardından doğum sonrası depresyonla mücadele eder ve "iyi bir anne olma" beklentisi altında ezildiğini hisseder. Eşi evde çocukla ilgilenirken, Filiz iş hayatındaki sorumluluklarını sürdürmeye çalışır. Kendine ayırabildiği kısa dinlenme anları ise, yardım etmek isteyen ama sınırlarını bilmeyen aile üyeleri tarafından sürekli bölünür. Sadece kendisine ait bir şey yapma arzusu ile Filiz, bir araba satın almaya karar verir. Bu süreçte, şiddet uygulayan erkek arkadaşından kaçmaya çalışan genç bir kadın olan Şule ile tanışır. İki kadın arasında zamanla bir dayanışma bağı oluşur; bu bağ, her ikisinin de içinde bulunduğu çıkmazlarla baş edebilmesine yardımcı olur.
Yönetmen Emine Emel Balcı, ikinci uzun metrajlı filmiyle gece yalnız dolaşmak zorunda kalan, hayatta kalmak için yeni yollar arayan, kendini güvensiz hisseden ve yaşadıkları karmaşanın "normal" kabul edilmediği kadınlara ses vermeyi amaçlar. Film, kadınların kırılganlıklarıyla birlikte direnme güçlerini de görünür kılan içten bir anlatı sunar.
