51. Mülheimer Theatertage: "DRUCK!" von Arad Dabiri

In the organizer's words:

Nominated for the Mülheim Drama Prize 2026: "DRUCK!" by Arad Dabiri

Not much happens in terms of external action in Arad Dabiri's "DRUCK!" apart from sitting on a park bench and chatting, waiting for a court ruling and organizing a demonstration, which unfortunately gets out of hand due to the irritating topic of migration policy. Nevertheless, thanks to the four well-grounded boys and not least sister Shirin, it always remains exciting. As a woman, she has to be a bit more pragmatic and tougher than the four of them. She doesn't even bother with discussions about integration or cultural feelings of home: "Adapt here and live better. That's it." Incidentally, Dabiri didn't have to do any research for his play: "I know these guys and what they talk and think very well." (Franz Wille)
