Opening concert of the vocal ensemble amarcord as part of the international festival for vocal music "a cappella"

a cappella and its hosts amarcord are once again entering the merry month of May with a fresh spirit and program - but for the first time together with and at the Leipzig Opera!

In 2026, a festival will celebrate Albert Lortzing, who made a name for himself as an opera composer during his time in Leipzig. To kick off their in-house festival, amarcord will be exploring what Lortzing and - in true amarcord fashion - his contemporaries actually put to paper and voice for vocal ensembles and choirs. We can expect an a cappella prelude in the spirit of the Romantic tradition of male choir and liedertafel, with works by Lortzing and, for example, Marschner or Mendelssohn - and the sociable and sonorous opening chord to another vocal spring in Leipzig!
