Along the Karl Heine Canal, right across Lindenau, places open up that tell more than we might expect at first glance. We set off together: from the Entensteg via the Jahrtausendfeld and the "Knochenplatz" to the Lindenauer Markt. City history, fairy tales and personal memories interweave to create surprising perspectives.

There are stories of wild meadows in the middle of the city, of cemeteries where children run around today, of rye that grew on concrete and of the scent of wallpaper in the 1980s.
