Becoming someone else... Eliminating one identity to invent another... Tearing off a skin called origin and putting on another and calling it the future and chiseling the hated precariat DNA out of the old body to then adonize the new body into the wet dream of the intellectual bourgeoisie... What does that mean?

Édouard, actually Eddy, doesn't want to be poor and starve and go without new clothes, and doesn't want to spend a lifetime running from home to school to factory in the forgotten 5 km² of French provinces, and doesn't want to have to hide his desire for other men all his life, Édouard wants... to be anything but another. He wants to belong. But he's stuck.

In a poetic, fragmentary adaptation of the novel "How to Become Someone Else" by French shooting star Édouard Louis, up-and-coming director Chiara Liotine searches for her relationship with her father, peeling back memory after memory into the layers of a complicated relationship.
