The situation in Rojava / North and East Syria has recently escalated dramatically once again: civilian infrastructure is under attack, cities are under siege and escape routes are blocked. Despite a recently concluded ceasefire agreement, the situation remains extremely fragile. Kurds, women and religious minorities are particularly affected, and thus the very achievements that Rojava has stood for in recent years: democratic self-government, equal rights and solidarity.

"Berlin for Rojava" is a civil society initiative that collects donations for the humanitarian care of the civilian population there. All donations collected are used via medico international for the work of local partner organizations, such as the Kurdish Red Crescent. They provide emergency medical care for displaced people, equip emergency shelters and document human rights violations.

Our common goal is to collect at least 100,000 euros in donations. At the same time, we want to send out a clear signal with this evening: Culture as a voice. Music as responsibility. Solidarity as concrete action.

"Berlin for Rojava" stands for cohesion and humanity and wants to connect through music, create a space for sympathy and commitment and together send a clear signal against oppression.

The initiative firmly rejects any form of discrimination, whether based on origin, gender, identity, religion, political conviction or sexual orientation - and clearly distances itself from all militant groups and institutions.
