Eva Herbergen, a dedicated criminal defense lawyer, wants to slowly retire from her work and enjoy old age with her husband Peter. But the dark shadows of her cases extend into her private life. In gripping tableaux, Elisa Hoven illuminates legal and biographical dark zones in "Feine Risse": Certainty is an illusion, a judgment always remains only an approximation of the truth. "Feine Risse" leads into the thicket of coincidences in the origins of crimes. Elisa Hoven, born in Berlin in 1982, is a professor of criminal law at the University of Leipzig and a judge at the Constitutional Court of Saxony. She has conducted research in Cambridge, Harvard, Berkeley, Los Angeles, Phnom Penh, Basel and Sydney. Her passion is criminal law and she is interested in the genesis and consequences of crime. In addition to fiction, she also publishes non-fiction and children's books. Elisa Hoven lives in Berlin and has two children.
