Christian Christl loves good, old, handmade "vintage blues & barrelhouse piano". In the last 40 years he has played concerts all over Europe, in the USA and in Australia.

The current solo program is called: "The wonderful world of barrelhouse and boogie piano". Christian Christl plays, sings and tells music and stories from the time when the boogie piano learned to walk. From the first drumbeat in Africa to the rhythm of the steam locomotive. From the madam Doodles in Storyville in New Orleans to Fats Domino. Two hours of spontaneous reading - without a manuscript, of course, but with lots of good, handmade music on the grand piano.

The blues pianist Memphis Slim gave Christian Christl a good tip many years ago: "Blues pianists tell musical stories - and play a little piano to go with it". Christian Christl still follows this tip today.
