DELBRUEGGE BAND bei Jussi

In the organizer's words:

The DELBRUEGGE BAND plays "Music for Analogue Souls" - is that jazz? Blues? Soul? Film music? Cologne saxophonist Bernd Delbrügge places it "somewhere between Duke Ellington, Tom Waits and Clärchens Ballhaus" (with a dash of Edgar Wallace). The sound of the Delbruegge Band points far back into the past without ever sounding antiquated. Here, American music history is reflected in the bar of a German nightclub. A perfect melange of styles in extended film noir mode.

On Fri. 15.05.2026 we play for the fifth time at JUSSI in Cologne-Bickendorf. The Haus Thomas restaurant ("bei Jussi") has been around since 1846 and is one of Cologne's last authentic suburban pubs. Gustav (Jussi) Pesch is the seventh generation to run the restaurant. And because events in Cologne establish a "tradition" from the third time onwards, we are now right in the middle of the "DELBRUEGGE BAND at Jussi's" tradition. This only happens in Cologne!
