For the third time, the Geheime Salon and the Frankfurt event institution Ichi Ichi are joining forces to ignite a Walpurgis firework display of electronic dance music on the floor of the Mousonturm Saal. Anyone who has been there in recent years will know that surprises are the rule here when international DJs and live acts take it in turns to deliver an exchange of sonic energy. From the foggy basements of Berlin, we welcome the human rhythm machine Chris Imler. His concerts are musical magic acts in which he single-handedly operates vocals, drums (standing), sampler and synthesizer. What impresses visually, electrifies acoustically with a mixture of nervous post-punk and laid-back synth groove.

Coco Cobra was influenced early on by punk, synthpop and the electro of the Myspace era, but has long since risen to become the high priestess of eclectic sets of contemporary club music. Her selections are like carefully drawn tarot cards - darkly shimmering, electrifying, unpredictable. Every transition is an incantation, every drop a call to dance.

No one says and programs synthesizers more beautifully than the Dutch sound alchemist Legowelt. Since the late 90s, this living legend has been wandering between the different worlds of electronic music. From Detroit-inspired techno to raw house and enraptured ambient soundscapes - warm analog synths swim alongside aging drum machines and many other vintage devices in his bubbling cauldron of sound.

The Berlin and Leipzig-based duo Waq Waq Kingdom from Japan mix dancehall, footwork, jungle and grime into driving, bass-heavy, rhythmically complex magic formulas. Their songs are like ecstatic incantations: raw, trance-like, uncompromising.

Zina's sets move between footwork, dubstep, ambient, leftfield, bass, broken beat, experimental and reggaeton - a multifaceted witches' sabbath of sounds. Stylistically, it remains unbound: sometimes energetic and percussive like a drum ritual at dawn, sometimes hypnotically gentle and dreamy.
