Roya Soraya liest "Wind in meinem Kopftuch"

Between two worlds: Growing up in Germany in an Iranian-German family, Roya feels both close to and alien to Persian culture. During conversations at her Iranian family's table, she hardly understands a word, even though the sound is so familiar to her. Her longing to get to know Iran and thus a part of her roots grows ever greater. One day, the time has finally come: together with her father, Roya embarks on a journey through Iran and, as a queer woman, experiences an intense time between fascination and fear, beauty and oppression - without suspecting that this will be her last trip with her father.

Roya Soraya's autobiographical graphic novel tells of the search for identity, life between two cultures, political oppression and the power that lies in memories. An impressive portrait of growing up amidst cultural differences, loss and self-discovery.
