"St. Mary - just a house facade decoration?"

Many house facades in Munich are still adorned with pictures and sculptures of saints. One motif is particularly striking: the Queen of Heaven Mary, who plays a central role in Catholic Christianity and is also venerated in Islam.

In this interactive lecture, we will explore the question of how the saint found her way into Munich as a domestic Madonna and what types of domestic Madonnas adorn the city's facades. You might even come across a real miracle Madonna.
