Simple language: Die Sterne have been making music for over 30 years. They make post-punk and indie pop. They mostly sing in German.

The new album "Wenn es Liebe ist" by Die Sterne brings together familiar indie pop moments in the typical Sterne sound, but also unexpected new inventions. In addition to German lyrics, there are English-language songs and post-punk influences. Instead of sounding like the hundredth repetition, the album sounds like a new beginning - fresh, pointed, humorous and uncompromising. Since the early 1990s, Die Sterne have been one of the most important voices in German-language pop. With their keen sense of social observation, political wit and poetic acuity, they have set standards by which many still measure themselves today. "Wenn es Liebe ist" proves that Die Sterne have remained uncompromisingly relevant more than 30 years after their first records.
