Wigs are fascinating - in real life as well as on stage. To this day, it is impossible to imagine the world of opera without them. Many of them are elaborately handcrafted - specially made for the grand entrance in the spotlight.

Our double tour opens the doors to the mask workshops of the Bavarian State Opera and provides rare insights behind the scenes. Afterwards (from 5.30 pm), the tour leads through the exhibition HAIR - POWER - LUST in the Kunsthalle München, where hair becomes visible as an expression of identity, self-presentation and social role in art and culture.

The double tour is a cooperation between the Bavarian State Opera and the Kunsthalle München. It begins at the State Opera.
