Ein Fest, zum Sterben schön

"Ein Fest, zum Sterben schön" is a clownish play for young and old about life, death and the seemingly impossible friendship that inextricably links the two. With the wisdom and comforting power of humor, it tells a tragicomic story about our existence and its finiteness.

Barbara and Gudrun are best friends. Even if it is sometimes a miracle that the two get along at all, one is hardly conceivable without the other. The unlikely couple share a deep affection that overcomes all disagreements and failures. They share their lives and celebrate them with a party. "Hurray for us!" In the midst of this fun, the two are surprised by the appearance of a little unknown guest. He shyly introduces himself as Death and shamedly announces that he has always been there as a silent companion. Because this is hard to believe, the two friends have fun with the unusual visitor and his comical claim. However, they wouldn't mind a little taste of paradise or getting stars from the sky. It is the first time that Death has been invited to join in the joys of life. The three lose themselves more and more in this, only to find themselves in the next moment in the gentle closeness of a new friendship. Even though the three of them now belong together, the time has come for Barbara and Gudrun to say goodbye.

Because that's the way life is.
