In 1910, the Hitachi mine in Ibaraki Prefecture causes major damage through copper mining. Toxic smoke pollutes the environment and the small town of Irishken. Two young men decide to fight against the pollution in order to secure the existence of their village. Based on a true story and the novel of the same name by NITTA Jirō.
