Meditation in itself has many special effects that can help us in life. However, Buddha does not teach meditation as an end in itself. Instead, he recommends the practice of meditation as a method with which we can gain special insights.
For example, he points out that our human life is very precious and gives many reasons for this. We will look at these in this workshop and learn to meditate on them. The aim is to gain our own deep understanding of these logical reasons and to allow these thoughts to give rise to a fundamental joy of life within us.
If Buddha is right, then we are incredibly lucky right now and we don't need any other reasons to live a happy life. Give yourself permission to be happy for no reason.
Session times: 3.30 - 4.45 pm and 5.15 - 6.30 pm
In both sessions you will learn a preparatory meditation to stop distractions. Gen Gyudzhin will share the explanations from How We Understand the Mind by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso about the preciousness of human life. And we learn how to make practical meditation objects out of it. This kind of practice is very skillful and can be applied to all wisdom teachings that serve inner development.
You don't need to bring anything extra except - if possible - comfortable clothes for meditation. Everyone is welcome.
PS: You may save yourself a lot of stress with this course.
