Ett öss wie ett öss - Kabarett mit Jupp Hammerschmidt, dem einzig wahren Eifel-Poeten

It is a great pleasure for the Kulturhaus operators that Jupp Hammerschmidt, the only true Eifel poet, will be back as a guest. He has put together a new program under the title "Ett öss wie ett öss" (For non-Eifel people: "It is as it is") - with some classic numbers, but also with all kinds of new elements.

Corona had initially ended his series of appearances on the stages of the Eifel - now he's back. What luck!

The time of Corona seems to be over, thank God, and Jupp is very happy to talk about that.

However, there are also phenomena that continue to exist in their splendor and magnificence. For example, the endless spring meadows full of daffodils, "Zicksele", as the Höfener says.

Following a tried and tested pattern, Jupp Hammerschmidt presents stories, poems and many songs, some in Eifel dialect, about life in the Eifel around Monschau, Höfen, Kalterherberg and the High Fens.

What characterizes this unique region? The cold, the fierce wind, called "ne wracke Wönk" by the locals, the special language, sometimes also the lasting silence.

Of course, Jupp also presents some of his legendary "verse texts".

He sheds light on the Eifel's "speech-technical energy-saving mode", as well as the aforementioned eloquent silence that Eifel fan Johann Wolfgang von Goethe appreciated so much.

And "Zömmermanns Jupp, dä arme Schlupp", the famous world's first rap, first performed in the Höfen sacristy by five altar boys, is of course not to be missed.
