Farhot, producer, beat tinkerer, musician and founder of Kabul Fire Records, is coming to Gretchen on May 09, 2026 with a full live band line-up. For over a decade, the Afghan-German artist has been shaping the international scene with his sound between hip-hop, global bass culture and experimental production. And whether it's his own productions or collaborations with other musicians: His signature is unmistakable.

With his EP "Raqs" (2025) - Dari for "dance" - Farhot expands his sound spectrum further towards the dance floor and explores the vibrant musical heritage of predominantly Arabic-speaking regions in North Africa, West Asia and East Africa. Farhot was guided by a virtual sampling journey on which he combined sounds from Egypt, Lebanon and Somalia and merged them into a dense, danceable sound network.

The result is an EP that clearly stands out from his previous work, but still unmistakably bears his sonic signature: productions that can sound complex and powerful, but also playful and simple - or generate intensity through unconventional methods of chopping and distorting vocals. Among other things, there are samples of the Lebanese legend Fairuz, embedded in an almost experimental uptempo production.
