Folkwang Kammerorchester Essen „What a wonderful world“

What a wonderful world: Hall 12 at Zeche Zollverein becomes an urban jazz club when the Folkwang Kammerorchester Essen meets the Jerry Lu Trio. With the young singer Alma Naidu and the internationally acclaimed jazz pianist Jerry Lu, two of the biggest stars of the young German jazz scene are coming to Zollverein and taking the FKO with them to their musical home. The line-up of strings and jazz band breathes new life into immortal jazz standards and famous songs from Broadway musicals. Classics such as "Over the Rainbow", "When You Wish Upon a Star" and music by Cole Porter, George Gershwin as well as Lu and Naidu's own compositions are on the program - with lots of swing and groove, sometimes full of energy, sometimes very tender.

Young conductor Lea Ray, a scholarship holder of the German Music Council and another promising talent on her way to the top, will be on the podium. A concert full of encounters and curiosity with great artists as guests of the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen!
