In this panel discussion, the 37th Turkish Film Festival Munich will take a closer look at the representation of women in cinema, bringing to light stories and voices that transcend borders. The discussion will focus on topics such as "The representation of women in cinema from the 1980s to today", "The impact of body politics on cinema" and "The contribution of women to film".

Taking part in the panel discussion will be:

• Actress Nur Sürer, who has shone in top-class roles from the 80s to the present day
• The well-known actress Hayal Kaya, who has been working in Germany since 2013
• The director Emine Emel Balcı, whose film "I'm Here, I'm Fine" can be seen at the 37th Turkish Film Festival Munich.

• Moderation: Dr. Erkan Taşkıran, film producer

37 Münih Türk Film Günleri, bu panelde, sinemada kadının temsiline daha yakından bakıyor; sınırları aşan hikâyelere ve seslere kulak veriyor. Tartışılacak konu başlıkları arasında; "80'lerden Günümüze Sinemada Kadın Temsili", "Beden Politikasının Sinemaya Yansımaları" ve "Kadınların Sinemaya Katkısı" yer alıyyor.

For ten days, the 37th Turkish Film Festival 2026 Munich will present feature films, documentaries and short films at the Royal Filmpalast and Gasteig HP8. They tell of escapes from reality, of inequality and solidarity, of being a woman and a mother, of the power of art and imagination. They provide an insight into what is currently moving society and into the turbulent years of its history. Touching, moving and often with a good dose of humor!
