Freischwimmen – Ein Irgendwie 248 Sachen-Event

In the organizer's words:

The reading series "Irgendwie 248 Sachen" returns to the Literaturhaus St. Jakobi and presents a reading with a swimming pool feeling. In keeping with the current stage design, this reading is all about "free swimming". Three texts show what can be brought out of swimming pool nostalgia, underwater perspectives and waterwing poetry. The audience can expect literary-themed mini-games that will keep not only the authors but also the audience on their toes. All according to the motto: "Jumping off the edge of the pool is expressly encouraged".

After the reading, the St. Jakobi outdoor pool vibe can be enjoyed one last time with a special drink, fries and water ice to get in the mood for the summer vacations.

The reading series "Irgendwie 248 Sachen" was founded a few years ago as part of a project semester at the University of Hildesheim and has been organizing regular readings ever since. Since March 2022, it has been a registered association with the aim of rethinking literature and breaking up traditional reading formats with low-threshold, playful elements. It aims to create a cultural offering that is as accessible as possible for audiences and authors, offer initial stage experience and develop new forms of literature mediation.
