Gallery Weekend Special: Concert by James Massiah

In the organizer's words:

As a Gallery Weekend Special, the Julia Stoschek Foundation in Berlin invites London-based artist, poet, and musician James Massiah for a live concert.

Massiah works with language as a material, direct, often fragmentary, and engages with themes such as ethics, mortality, hedonism, and sexuality. His work circulates between poetry, music, and performance. He has released several EPs and collaborated with artists including Massive Attack and Daniel Avery. As part of London's underground scene, he is present through his monthly show on NTS Radio as well as his own dub techno and grime projects, and has performed at Boiler Room, BBC 1Xtra, Tate Modern, and Glastonbury Festival. In 2026, he is also part of the Denkmantel line-up.

His ongoing series New Poems reflects everyday life in London from a personal perspective. Massiah also runs Adult Entertainment, an internationally staged poetry series.

Invited by Tabea Marschall

The sound system for the night will be kindly provided by the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program.
