General a.D. Harald Kujat

The Solingen Peace Forum is organizing: General (ret.) Harald Kujat - Voice of reason in warlike times - Lecture and discussion.

Harald Kujat, (born 1942), retired General, was Inspector General of the German Armed Forces from 2000 to 2022 and Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, the highest military position in the North Atlantic Alliance, from 2002 to 2005. In this role, he was also Chairman of the NATO-Russia Council and the NATO-Ukraine Commission of the Chiefs of Staff.

From the experience and deep insights into the dynamics of international conflicts that General Harald Kujat has gained in the exercise of the highest-ranking military offices, he derives his civic duty to engage in the public discourse on war and peace even in his professional retirement. Together with experts such as the long-standing UN diplomat Michael von Schulenberg, he formulated a comprehensive peace plan to end the war in Ukraine in the summer of 2023.

As part of the Solingen peace movement, we hope that the lecture and the subsequent discussion will provide new impetus for our peace work.
