Henny Herz & Floatist – Indie/Folk/Soul

In the organizer's words:

Floatist is the connection between folk singer-songwriter Henny Herz and drummer and producer Nicholas Stampf. With Somewhere Else Entirely, the duo is not only deepening their long-standing artistic collaboration, but also entering new stylistic territory, inspired by soulful grooves and playful sound design.
Since 2020, Nicholas Stampf has been an integral part of the band around Henny Herz, playing a key role in the album production of "Two Colors To Combine" (2023) as well as in numerous live performances.

Together, they produced the third Henny Herz album We All Heal At Night in an old country house in the Czech Republic - a collection of 14 pieces between folk and ambient, dedicated exclusively to the themes of sleep and security in turbulent times.

The starting point for their debut album as Floatist is a creative stay at the Baltic Sea. There they combine direct songwriting with intuitive production methods and let themselves be guided by chance processes. This inspiring interaction results in music that feels light and profound, dreamy and energetic, intimate, close and expansive at the same time.

Somewhere Else Entirely brings together twelve tracks that swim between worlds. Gentle, intimate voices tell stories and join together to form immersive choirs, floating on airy, light grooves. Let yourself fall in, make yourself comfortable, roll down the imaginary window and stretch your head out into the warm breeze, while maritime landscapes bathed in sun pass by and salt air announces the approaching sea.

In this imaginary place, which also stands for the origin of our existence, the urgent questions in all of us that rarely find enough space for reflection become audible: where we need to go as humanity and society in order to lead a life worth living in the new age of artificial intelligence and climate catastrophes. How we want to live together and what processes of reflection are needed for individuals and society as a whole. Floatist opens up a space for this like the tides: retreating into security, then rolling in again powerfully.
