The Second World War still holds many secrets and some of them will remain hidden forever. Among the stories that have disappeared from memory are the fates of the Roma partisans. Director Vera Lacková, great-granddaughter of one of the forgotten fighters, learned about the deeds of her great-grandfather Ján Lacko from her grandmother when she was a small child. Many years later, Vera researches archives, travels to villages and mountains where the tragic events took place, visits memorials and conducts interviews. She fights her way through the deep-rooted hatred and prejudice against Roma, both in the memories of contemporary witnesses and in conversations with her friends. All this - to refute the clichés and make the forgotten deeds of her ancestors part of European history. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director Vera Lacková.
