Ever since his Edison Award-winning Blue Note debut "KingMaker" (2019), Joel Ross has been recognized as one of the most distinctive and courageous vibraphonists of his generation. Ross' latest album "Gospel Music" draws from the spiritual and communal traditions of Chicago's Black Church, exploring ideas of engagement, renewal and shared purpose through layered harmonies and collaborative improvisation - music that is both technically sophisticated and emotionally direct, rooted in tradition yet unmistakably contemporary.
